1. Snoop Dogg
Back in 2013, when Bitcoin was in its early stages, Snoop Dogg planned to make his record available to buy in bitcoin.
He sold the albums at 0.3 BTC back then and while the total amount of bitcoin he acquired is unknown he’s certainly an early adopter of the technology.
Snoop also doesn’t stop at Bitcoin and he isn’t afraid to explore popular altcoins as he has been spotted at an XRP Community Night crypto party.
2. Paris Hilton
In 2017, a cryptocurrency called LydianCoin received a supportive tweet from Paris Hilton. Paris tweeted to her 16 million-plus followers that she was “looking forward to participating in the new @LydianCoinLtd Token.”
This tweet was later deleted by the TV star.
After publication, a spokesperson said Paris is no longer involved with Lydian.
3. Bill Gates
Bill Gates, a very well known investing figure, is one of the richest people in the world. In 2014, he gave an interview for Bloomberg where he spoke positively for Bitcoin.
“Bitcoin is exciting because it shows how cheap it can be. Bitcoin is better than currency in that you don’t have to be physically in the same place, and for large transactions, currency can get pretty inconvenient.”
Once, he received bitcoin as a birthday present.
“Somebody gave me some for my birthday,” Gates laughed during an interview with Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett and Vice Chairman Charlie Munger. “A few years later, I thought, ‘Hey I’m going to sell that.”
4. Elon Musk
In December 2020, The Tesla CEO tweeted a shout out for Dogecoin saying, “One Word: Doge.”
The tweet sent shares of Dogecoin up nearly 20% and landed it on the list of trending Twitter topics. The tech mogul even went as far as updating his Twitter bio with the title, “Former CEO of Dogecoin.”
5. Mike Tyson
Mike Tyson was another early adopter of cryptocurrencies particularly Bitcoin.
Most notebly he produced Bitcoin ATMs branded with his face tattoo and launched a Bitcoin Wallet in collaboration with Bitcoin Direct with the same branding as the ATM.
6. Serena Williams
Serena Williams, one of the world’s most successful tennis players of all time, revealed in an Instagram post that she is an investor in cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase.

7. Lionel Messi
Stars like Lionel Messi, Luiz Suarez, Ousmane Dembele and Antoine Greizmann are set to become popular sporting figureheads in crypto as part of a marketing deal which sees the Catalan giants, Barcelona, partnering with blockchain start-up Chiliz.
Messi is one high-profile footballer who isn’t afraid to be part of the cohort of celebrities who are pro cryptocurrencies.
8. Floyd Mayweather
Not one to shy away from controversy, Floyd Mayweather has found himself involved in some of the more unsavoury aspects of cryptocurrency.
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced charges against Floyd Mayweather for failing to disclose payments received for promoting investments in Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs).
The boxer – whom Forbes values at $285m – used Instagram to promote ICOs to his 22.3 million followers and told his 7.85 million Twitter followers: “You can call me Floyd Crypto Mayweather from now on.”
The SEC found that Mayweather had failed to disclose he was paid $200,000 to promote the other two ICOs.
9. Manny Pacquiao
Manny Pacquiao was one of the best boxers in the world and is known for his humanitarian actions in the Philippines. Pacquiao is also pro cryptocurrencies demonstrated when he launched the world-first celebrity cryptocurrency: the PAC coin.
10. Ashton Kutcher
As well as founding his own investment firm “A-Grade” in 2010, Ashton Kutcher has invested in UnikoinGold along with billionaire Mark Cuban.
The esports gambling startup responsible for the currency, Unikrn, marketed UnikoinGold as a currency to be used for betting on the likes of League of Legends, Dota 2, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
The actor has also invested in Airbnb, Uber and BitPay in the past
11. Kanye West
Appearing on Joe Rogan’s popular podcast, Kanye has said he thinks “geniuses” in the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency community “have a perspective” on the “true liberation of America and humanity.”
The interview also spanned the origins of his presidential run, his thoughts on the coronavirus pandemic and the future of humanity. Of celebrities who are pro cryptocurrency, there are none more vibrantly entertaining than Kanye.
12. Maisie Williams
Maisie Williams, also known as Arya Stark, daughter of Lady Catelyn and Lord Eddard, from Game of Thrones TV show, considered buying Bitcoin publically.
She asked her Twitter followers whether she should “go long on bitcoin?”
This poll caused an onslaught of memes and one-liners that put Bitcoin right in the eye of a large swathe of people that may not have considered Bitcoin as an investment option.
Buying Bitcoin at the time of the Tweet would have been a savvy move as the price of Bitcoin went on to rally strongly.
